The contest is open only to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the province or territory of residence at the time of entry. Employees, representatives, agents, shareholders, officers, directors, prize suppliers, the advertising or promotional agencies of the contest Sponsors and Government of Ontario Employees and their respective related companies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible to enter. This contest is void outside the jurisdictions listed herein and where prohibited by law.
To be eligible, a professional photographer is any photographer who meets at least one of the following 3 criteria:
- is represented by a commercial gallery or agency;
- has had his or her photography exhibited in either a group or solo exhibition in a public or commercial gallery;
- has received compensation for his or her services or expertise.
Photographers must submit a CV and bio outlining their professional career and accomplishments.
All photos submitted to the competition should be new and original work. Work created under contract to other organizations, under license to other organizations or held with stock agencies may not be submitted. This liability is the responsibility of the photographer and any photographer submitting photos breaching this provision will be disqualified.
By entering the Contest, each photographer consents, to the extent permitted by law, to the use of his or her name, image, voice, likeness, city of residence and/or photographs without compensation in any publicity or advertising carried out in any medium worldwide by the Contest Sponsors and/or its advertising or promotional agencies/partners without limitation or further notification or compensation for the duration of the contest (April 1, 2008 to February 28, 2009 and 2 years afterwards (to April 1, 2011).
